Sharron was born in St Catharines, Ont on 06 June 1942, one of six children born to Emma and Ernie Barnim.
She spent all of her school years in St Catharines. Following graduation from high school she worked as a secretary for the Foster-Wheeler Company and later for the St Lawrence Seaway Corporation where she met her future husband, Bob Singleton.
She then moved to Ottawa in 1972 where she worked several years for J L Richards & Associates consulting engineers while her still future husband worked for the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton.
Sharron and Bob were married in a private ceremony on April 03,1976 and resided in the Carp area where they have remained to this day. She loved her flower gardens and she loved to cook and entertain close friends. Her loud voice and hearty laugh were her trademarks and she was always cheerful and a true friend to all she knew. Above all, she was the absolute best wife and partner that could ever be. She will always be missed.
At Sharron’s request, there will be no formal funeral. Her wishes were to be cremated and her ashes returned to the family and that a celebration of her life take place at an appropriate time of year. Ultimately her ashes will be buried in the Singleton plot at the North Branch cemetery, a few miles north of Martintown, Ontario.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
