Obituary for Monica Wilson (Robinson)

In loving memory of Monica Wilson
May 6, 1941 - September 30, 2023

Monica Wilson passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side on September 30, 2023 at Orchardview by the Mississippi in Almonte, Ontario. Monica was born May 6, 1941 and was raised in the beautiful village of Ingonish Beach on Cape Breton Island. She grew up with her many siblings and left home to attend Empire business college in Sydney for her secretarial diploma.
She moved on to live in Halifax with her besties and long time gal-pals known as the Lucknow girls, and started her career at CBC Halifax as a secretary.
Monica later married and had her daughter Tanya, and spent many years being a loving stay at home mom.
Monica was an avid and talented gardener, a phenomenal cook, a perpetual animal lover, and could make anyone smile with her sassy sense of humour.
Monica is survived by her daughter Tanya (Guido), granddaughters Kaitlyn (Oliver) and Brianna (Cale) and great granddaughter Hazel. She is also survived by siblings Marion, Myrna, Stasia, Joe, and Jimmy. A special place in her heart was always dedicated to Kelly.
Predeceased by parents Timothy and Pearl Robinson and siblings Frank (in infancy), Freda, Julia, John, Millie, Leo and Francis (Fanny), as well as her beloved dog Jovi.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ray and the amazing, caring and kind nurses, PSW’s, recreation leaders and entire staff at Orchardview. Their dedication and care never went unnoticed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Monica to either Almonte General Hospital for a CT scanner, or a donation to any animal welfare or rescue organization would be appreciated.
