James passed away with his family at his side, after a very brief stay at the Almonte Hospital (just as he would have wished), at the age of 92 years. He was predeceased by his dearly loved wife, Leona (Lloyd) Foster in 1976. Cherished father of Darwin (Cheryl) Foster, Diane (Glenn) Stead and Joan (Ken) Miller. Beloved grandfather to Scott, D’arcy (Alexandra), Travis (Isabel) Foster, Krista (Mike) Stead-Mackler, Ryan (Kristi) Stead, Kasey (Dan) Stead-Grace, Paul (Leah) Stead, Curtis (Brittany), Clayton (Ashley), and Kendra Miller. Also cherished great-grandfather to, Kaylee, Skylar, Abram, Leah, Daxton, Brooke, Allie, Oliver, Adeline, James, Margaret, Charlotte and Harper. With another great grand baby expected shortly. Up until the week of his death James lived all his life on the family farm in Galbraith near Clayton. He was the son of (George) Irvine and Marguret (Effie Munro) Foster. Predeceased by his sister Mary (Foster) Watt.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service Sunday May 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Clayton United Cemetery, Clayton Ontario. A gathering will follow at Clayton Community Centre. For those wishing, in memoriam donations to the Almonte General Hospital – Fairview Manor Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
