Unexpectedly on Wednesday August 11 2021, in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Dr Edward Atack (1992). Much loved by her present husband, Dr Robert Shoemaker. Lovingly remembered by her children Dr David (Alexandra Burke-Robertson), Dr John (Dr Linda Berthiaume), and Susan Brousseau (Douglas). Predeceased by her parents George and Louisa May Boag, her sisters Helen and Val, and her eldest grandchild, Jennifer. Survived by her brother John (Shirley), and by many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Throughout her life Alicen was a keen advocate of equestrian sports, particularly the discipline of dressage.
A funeral mass in memory of Alicen will take place on Wednesday August 25 at 11.00am, with a visitation at 10.00am, at St. Barnabas Church Ottawa. A private internment ceremony at the Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte On will follow. Donations to the Jennifer Atack Memorial Legacy Endowment Fund for Rheumatology at The Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
