Obituary for Alan McAdam

McAdam, Alan-Lewis
Age 62, passed away at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario on November 2, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born December 19, 1959 to Lewis and Agnes McAdam.

Alan spent his childhood on the family’s farm in Burnstown, Ontario. A successful graduate from the “school of hard knocks,” Alan had a long and successful career in the construction industry. He particularly enjoyed being a mentor to the next generation, and was immensely proud that both of his children followed in his footsteps. He enjoyed any opportunity to spend time outdoors with his family, be it hunting, sledding or mowing the “perfect” lawn.

Alan leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Leona (née Senack), and his children Scott (Odessa), and Kelsey (Nic). His favourite job was to be “Pa,” to his granddaughter and sunshine, Ivy.  His pal, the family dog Oakley, will miss their weekend morning drives to Tim Hortons and swimming lessons. He will be sorely missed by his sister Diana Barton (Trevor) and brother Bill McAdam, as well as his extended family (the Senacks), neighbours and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sinai Health Foundation (Account is "VASCUL-RES - CanVasc - Vasculitis Clinic”). The family also wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff who cared for Alan in recent months.
